Apple Chooses NC for $1 Billion Data Center

Great news! Another large technical company has chosen to expand into NC. It was announced today that Apple has chosen NC for its new $1 Billion data enter. This project will be built over a period of nine years. It has been projected that the construction will create At least 250 new jobs and eventually 3,000 jobs through its operation. The center's location has not been chosen yet, but it has been reported that it "must locate in one of the state’s more economically distressed Tier 1 or Tier 2 areas" (N.C. lures Apple to build $1B data center, Triangle Business Journal, June 3). For those of you unfamiliar with the tiers, you can see a map here. Read the article on Apple here.

Lets hope they choose Southeastern NC!
